In 2005, Bernie Johnson, music minister, FBC of Hamshire, TX, was accused of committing lewd sexual acts at a Southern Baptist church. He accepted a plea bargain for a conviction on indecent exposure. He then moved 10 miles down the road to First Baptist Church of Winnie, TX, affiliated with the Southern Baptists of Texas, to become music minister.
